Midyear Reading Wrap-up
Now that we have crossed the midway point of the year, I’ve been watching a bunch of midyear reading wrap-up videos on YouTube. I love seeing what other people have read so far in 2024!
When I see that I have a book in common with someone, I feel this odd sense of connection. We’ve read the same exact words and been immersed in the same story. Whether we both felt the same way about it is another subject. That’s how unique of an experience reading is!
These videos also inevitably show me more books I want to read, which is always fun. My husband will tell you I don’t need to add any more books to my already massive list. But I like to treat my books as if they are bottles of wine. This comparison comes from Luc van Donkersgoed who said:
“Think not of the books you’ve bought as a ‘to be read’ pile. Instead, think of your bookcase as a wine cellar. You collect books to be read at the right time, the right place, and the right mood.”
I just love that. Anyway, here are the books I read in the first half of 2024.
