This Is Your Sign To Create Your Own Book Club
At the start of this year I set a new and specific goal, and so far I’ve stuck with it! during the boring blob of time that is January, my husband and I decided we would form our own book club. Just the two of us. We agreed to select one book per month to read at the same time, then share our thoughts with each other.
Here are our book club’s guidelines:
1. We will read one book per month.
2. We will take turns selecting the genre and the particular book. (One month he will choose the genre, then I will choose the book within that genre, then the next month I choose the genre, and so on.)
3. On every available Saturday, we will have a coffee shop date and discuss what we think so far.
We are now almost 6 months into the challenge, and it’s been so much fun! I usually talk his ear off about the books I’m loving, so it’s been nice to read things at the same time so we can both talk each other’s ears off. It’s also been interesting to read things I normally wouldn’t have chosen.
I thought it would be fun to share a month-by-month recap of what we’ve read so far. I’d encourage anyone to change things up and create their own book club with a significant other or close friend! It really is fun to make your own rules.
January: Lie To Me by J.T. Ellison

February: Melmoth by Sarah Perry

This month I’m preparing for something really exciting so I’m busy reading lots of other things! :)
I’ll make sure to do another recap at the end of the year! For now, I’ll leave you with some fun stats, if you’re into that sort of thing.
